The TV show Little House On the
Prairie revolved around a small family in the Prairie at the 18th
century in America. It was one of the most bellowed series in the
70ties and was inspired by Laura Ingalls book.
It featured Michael Landon as the
father of the family and he appeared in all 203 episodes of the show.
The family lived on a farm in Minnesota in the 1870ties and you got a
real idea of how life was a that time. Their house was a small wood
house but they were happy together.
Little house on The Prairie show was
filmed primarily on Big Sky Ranch in California which terrain is far
more mountainous and rugged than the terrain in Minnesota is.
Even today the TV series theme is
famous and loved. The program was cancelled in the beginning of the
80ties while the show was still very popular but had started to
decline somewhat. Also, Michael Landon wanted to move on to other
projects.
Even though the show is 30 years old
it is still very popular and is still being shown occasionally on TV.
The Little House on the Prairie show
went on for 9 seasons and 203 episodes from 1975 to 1083.
Earlier then the TV series was sold
on VHS and now it is sold on DVD by some distributors.
In the TV show then many guest stars
appeared over the years including Johnny Cash so it is a good way to
get a peek at the starts of that time.
Hallmark is one of the several TV
stations that have been showing previously the show. An interesting
note is that when the original show was cancelled then a spin-off was
tried to be made with a new family moving into their house. One of
the family members there was Shannen Doherty who later appeared in
Beverly Hills 90210 show in the 90ties.
